Report: lt general dushyant singh
Jammu, May 13, 2025: Despite a clear ceasefire understanding reached at the DGMO-level meeting, grey-zone warfare involving drones is being waged from Pakistani soil. This has put Indian airports on high alert, leading to the cancellation of several flights. Sources reveal significant rifts within the Pakistan Army, with disgruntled local commanders defying orders from military chief General Asim Munir and independently launching drones towards India along the Line of Control (LoC) and IB.
Cracks in Pakistan Army Ranks: The Pakistan Army is witnessing deep internal discord between General Asim Munir and local ground commanders. These disgruntled commanders are ignoring directives from the military top brass and engaging in unauthorized drone operations against India. Notably, in the Pakistan Army structure, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) reports directly to General Munir, with one-to-one coordination between them. Thus, the DGMO-level agreement on the ceasefire is a direct reflection of General Munir’s intent and decisions.
Given that such talks cannot proceed without General Munir’s explicit approval, his commitment to the ceasefire is evident. However, the actions of local commanders, who are engaging in gross insubordination, are undermining this understanding.
India’s Response Strategy: India is ready for a powerful strike back to counter the ceasefire violation. Sources indicate that India could target and destroy drone launchpads along the LoC from where these aerial vehicles are being deployed. Should Pakistan disrupt Indian airspace and civilian airline operations, India has the capability to shut down their launchpads and aerial activities for a significantly longer period.
Analysis: The internal turmoil within the Pakistan Army not only exposes weaknesses in its command and control structure but also poses a threat to regional stability. India’s firm stance and readiness for a powerful retaliatory strike aim to deter further drone incursions while sending a clear message that violations of the ceasefire will not be tolerated.
Conclusion: The chaos within the Pakistan Army and the use of drones in grey-zone warfare risk escalating tensions between the two nations. India’s vigilance and preparedness for a robust counterstrike underscore its unwavering commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and security.
